The ISM Business Symposium was last Thursday, and I must say it was very interesting. I connected with a lot of people I don't think I meant to set out on connecting with and simply enjoyed being able to talk with professionals in different fields who may offer some insight into my topic. The Symposium was also a good point of reflection for how my work in ISM has been so far and a good point to evaluate how I should approach the future in this program.
At this point in time, I am ok with the secondary research I have so far, it has been a good starting point and has helped me link a lot of ideas together that make me more knowledgeable about my topic instead of just saying it is a point of interest. Looking forward it is time I started getting some primary research and formatting questions that could be useful to my topic. I have a couple places in mind about where to start contacting, however I know that I will have to get creative about who I am calling as there are not going to be a lot of diplomats in my area. From here, this is a crucial step in my ISM journey and it is something I will have to approach with patience and creativity to make sure I am successful in this part of the program.
