It has been a week of navigating the network of people that practice public international law. I have been looking for people and not finding as many as my peers so now I am turning to people who have previously worked in public international law or work in private international law and that yields some progress.
I also have been expanding my search radius and making concessions to virtual interviews because I don't live in New York or Washington D.C and my options are pretty limited.Furthermore, I might need to look into people who work in private international law which may not be as focused on my research but more frequent and they work with practices set by diplomats. I am also thinking of ways to implement my Original Work. I won't discuss too much of it but it is supposed to tackle a lot of the issues with diplomatic immunity and the biggest struggle that comes with it is the argument that as many countries as possible should sign on to this Original Work. That is something I think I should start gearing my research to this and interviews or hopefully creating something that matches current practices of international law that most countries may just, theoretically, codify a practice they already do.
